The IVG1200 Intelligent Voice Gateway is a highly scalable, intelligent voice services gateway designed for the edge of carrier and service provider networks. Purpose-built to deliver VoIP transport and services, the IVG1200 uniquely combines media gateway, call control, and router technologies to provide unmatched voice quality and reliability in a telco-grade, NEBS III- and ETSI-certified chassis. Powered by next-generation DSP and network processor technologies, the IVG1200 is a native IP platform that utilizes SIP and XML to quickly create and alter routing parameters, modify trunk, port, and subscriber profiles, and facilitate third-party interoperability.

The IVG1200 is the first voice gateway to deliver wire-speed routing and a hardware-based bearer path to deliver enhanced voice quality and integrated security capabilities to protect against Denial of Service (DoS), ping flood and Spam over Internet Telephony (SPIT) attacks. To sentitO, being purpose-built for VoIP doesn't mean sacrificing traditional telco requirements. The IVG1200 was designed for the rigors of Tier 1 carrier networks. Its NEBS Level 3-, UL-, CE-, and FCC-certified chassis provides test bypass pairs, input and output dry contact closures, and a fully serviceable fan tray. The IVG1200 is ruggedized and can support extended temperature ranges.

The most simplified and distributed architecture available today, the IVG1200 is right-sized for easy and cost-effective market expansion. Unlike other gateways that force carriers to pay upfront for multiple common elements, the IVG1200 is designed to carry just two cards: the Digital Gateway Unit—384 (DGU-384) Line Card and the PSR-2400 Packet Switch Router Module. With no common cards and shared DSP resources, deployments can start with as little as 16 T1s (12 E1s) and expand to 192 T1s (144 E1s) in a single chassis with no degradation in voice quality and no DSP contention issues. Pay-as-you-grow linear scalability allows operators to efficiently control capital expenses and avoid paying for unneeded processing power.

The IVG1200 provides 1:N redundancy on each DGU-384 line card and 1:1 redundancy on each PSR-2400 network card. A scalable, MPLS-based 120 Gbps backplane along with a fully fault-tolerant, real-time operating system software architecture ensure 99.999 percent uptime. The IVG1200 scales to support 4,608 simultaneous voice sessions in a single chassis and 13,824 simultaneous sessions in a standard seven foot telco rack.
